Kalamaki has maintained its Greek feel, with the relaxed and slow place of life still apparent despite its popularity with tourists. The beach at Kalamaki is part of Laganas bay and parts of the beach are restricted for the turtles to use as a breeding ground.
The nightlife Kalamaki is fairly low key but there are several bars and classy restaurants to while away the night fine dining, drinking and a bit of dancing if the mood takes you.
